This page contains links to information and tools that help guide you through the process of migrating roles and features to a newer version of Windows Server. You can migrate file servers and storage using Storage Migration Service , while many other roles and features can be migrated by using the Windows Server Migration Tools, a set of PowerShell cmdlets that were introduced in Windows Server R2 for migrating roles and features. The migration guides support migrations of specified roles and features from one server to another not in-place upgrades. Unless otherwise noted in the guides, migrations are supported between physical and virtual computers, and between full installation options of Windows Server and servers that are running the Server Core installation option. Before you begin migrating roles and features, verify that both source and destination servers are running the most current service packs that are available for their operating systems.

Steps to Complete
Ask the community. This page describes how to move Confluence between physical servers using the same or a different operating system. It doesn't cover database migration or upgrading your Confluence version. We suggest you do each of these steps separately. To transfer Confluence to another server you will copy the home and install folders straight into an identical external database and user management setup.
You may, on occasion, need to move your sugar instance from one server to another. This can be done in just a few simple steps, but before starting any data migration project you should first make sure no one is in the system, perform a backup, and verify functionality on the new server before retiring the old system. The administrator should set up the stack components PHP, Webserver and Database on the new server first. The stack components must be supported and the stack must be configured to serve PHP pages correctly. We will outline the basic steps for taking backups of various databases. Please note that SugarCRM does not provide support for performing On-Site backups, so please consult your database documentation for more information or advanced configurations. Expand "Databases" and select either a user database or expand "System Databases" to select a system database. Right click the database, select "Tasks", then "Back Up". The Back Up Database dialog box will appear. In the Database list box, verify the database name.
